My Master’s thesis for ABB is about the process control system in Control Rooms based on cognitive ergonomics theory and multiple study trips in two countries. The main goal is to develop concepts and test them with operators to enhance their efficiency and to improve the workflow visualization in the process industry (Oil & Gas, Power Plant).
Product Development Plan:
- Literature Study about Cognitive Ergonomics, Control Room and information design
- Study Visits: Data gathering with operators from 2 different countries
- Requirements Definition
- User Scenario Definition
- Idea Generation: Brainstorming for designing concepts
- Idea Elimination
- Concept Development and Implementation: Visual Design with Adobe Illustrator CS5 and Interactive Design with Microsoft Expression Blend 4 (self-learning for the softwares)
- Test & Evaluation
